Planning – 101

Hey Guyz,

I KNOW its been FOREVER since I’ve made a post on my site right? However, I want to do better with posting as I’ve come a long way with my soul searching journey. Before I go into detail about that let’s talk Organization!!

I love planners, highlighters, ball point pens, to do lists & anything else that gives me the illusion that I’m getting my life together.

You would think since I’m approaching my last year of college I would have this whole organization thing down right…..I mean, I like to think I keep everything together and I’m here to give some of my best tips to those who feel they need some inspiration!

It is crucial to find the perfect agenda that works for you and your lifestyle. Whether you’re involved in clubs and meetings or you’re an event “goer”, you’re 40% most likely to remember important things if you…WRITE THEM DOWN.

I’m using an agenda I bought from Target this school year to track all my events, meetings, birthdays, etc.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with scrapbooking to plan and keep everything together!

How I Organize and Decorate My Planner

1.) During the beginning of the week, I will have Sticky Notes labeled:

To-Do List:

What to Buy:

What to Print:

Having these at the beginning of my agenda of that week will help keep in my mind what I need to get done.

2.) Color Code: Seeing colors helps you to become more aware of whats going on.

EXAMPLE:  Black = school

Pink = Social events

Red = Urgent

Green = Bills

Yellow = Gym

Orange = Appointments/Meetings

So I’ll use different pen colors to write down these certain items to keep them organized.

3.) STICKERS! – They help to spice up your agenda and make planning a little more fun!

I find going to places like Dollar Tree, Target, and even Walmart and looking at their stationary sections for cheap stickers are less expensive than going online to Esty for planner stickers, but of course, it is up to you.

Darice dollar sticker books at Michaels has tons of stickers for just 1 dollar. They come in many different themes as well.

This is also where personality kicks in and you get to be the star of your own show.

My top 2 sources for inspiration are YouTube and Instagram. YouTube has to be my favorite because it was how I got into planning! Watching how YouTubers assemble their spreads can give you lots of ideas on how to do your own.

I would highly advise developing a system. I find it to be the most functional. That’s not to say that you can’t change things up. If you find something you really like, change things up. Ultimately you want your planner to be as functional as possible, and the best way to do that is to change it up as your life changes.

Hopefully this post was helpful, and good luck in your planning!
